Why Choose Us?
Gritstone Adventures hold an AALA Licence – this is the Health and Safety Executive licence which legally allows us to deliver activities for under 18s. Gritstone is owned and operated by an experienced ex-school teacher and qualified outdoor activity instructor. We know how to get the best from teenagers and children and believe strongly in experiential learning. We believe there is no better way to learn about yourself than through adventurous activities. The value to young people from challenge, teamwork and adventure is vastly important and can influence youngsters in long lasting way that permeates into all areas of their life and learning. Getting outdoors is the best way to broaden the horizons of young people – instilling a sense that there is a wider world out there to be explored.
All of our instructors have worked extensively with children and young people and hold a current DBS. I just wanted to drop you a note to say a huge THANK YOU to you and the team for the climbing this weekend. The Scouts have some great memories to take back with them. We try to encourage our scouts to push themselves to see what they are capable of, and the skill, enthusiasm and experience shown by your team really helped them to explore their limits in a safe environment.
Please could you pass on our thanks to the rest of the guys – you all really helped to make our weekend a success.
I used Gritstone Adventures for a caving trip for a Cadet group I run. All cadets came back smiling with exciting stories to tell. Usually they lack confidence but they were all taken outside of their comfort zone to realise their ability.
